Personal Information

CWIPP requires certain personal information about members, their employment and their beneficiaries. For example, a pension plan needs the birth dates of its members and their social insurance numbers. CWIPP must also track members’ earnings to ensure that all required contributions are being received. CWIPP also requires information about the spouses of members, or their beneficiaries, so benefits can be paid to the right person should the member die. Most of this information is provided by the member’s employer. Other information is collected directly from members. On occasion, CWIPP may need to share some of this information with actuaries and other pension professionals. CWIPP will take all reasonable steps to protect the privacy of your personal information. By participating in CWIPP, you are consenting to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information.
